For 35 years, this Dahlonega bed and breakfast hotel has operated as a year-round mountain getaway— in 2021, new ownership has taken this Dahlonega staple and reinvented, renovated and reintroduced the space as an upscale lodge, retreat and wedding event center. Our 15-acre mountain top enclave, surrounded by other large tracts of woodlands and natural beauty, creates a sense of total privacy while being only a 6-minute drive to downtown. When you’re ready to retreat to your guest room, we’ve made all of the preparations to help you relax.
All guest rooms at the MTL Lodge are furnished with a king or queen bed, each topped with cozy comforters and made up with elegant, mountain-house comfort luxury linens. The private baths in each room are stocked with amenities that include lotions, shampoo, and soaps. Our exposed wardrobe station in each room has become signature of the lodge. We love spoiling our guests with complimentary MTL water bottles and nightly treats in their lobby “mailbox.”

The main lodge hosts 9 elegant rooms with custom-crafted furniture, rendered in modern meets classic lodge style, which gives it a unique charm. On the main level guests will find the Hospitality Kitchen and stairs to The Mountain Top Loft Library while downstairs hosts the main dining room and The Fox & Owl Bar.

hillside Lodge.
The Hillside Lodge has 2 deluxe rooms, each including a fireplace, sitting area and whirlpool tub as well as 2 larger guest rooms on the lower level. The four separate suites make this quad-built house ideal for groups. Amenities in these suites also include in suite coffee, mini fridge, and microwave. Guest rooms in Hillside each have a private porch balcony with vast views of the mountains and a breathtaking sunset scape.
THE looking glass cAbin.
The Looking Glass Cabin is a space curated especially for you. This single bedroom cabin hosts a sunset view event room designed to host your bridal party, record guest testimonials of your retreat or simply be insta-fabulous in your photos. THE Breedlove cabin.
Named after the owners of The Mountain Top Lodge, this is where The Breedlove’s reside while on property. This beautiful Breedlove Cabin provides a romantic getaway or an economical two couple option. This rental is equipped with two full bed & bathrooms, kitchen, living room and fireplace. Ideal for families and couple groups. Stop by Hamilton’s Market on the way in and grill dinner on the private back porch while taking in the nightly sunsets.
