MTL POLICIES

General Booking Policies.

All reservations require payment of the full room charge (excluding tax and county lodging fees) at the time of booking. This amount will be charged to your credit card upon confirming the reservation.

Check-in begins at 3 PM. As a small property, we typically cannot accommodate early check-ins, as we are busy preparing for your arrival. If you plan to arrive after 8 PM, kindly let us know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.

We kindly request all guests to check out by 11 AM. When checking out, please leave your key in the room or return it to a staff member. A $25 replacement fee will apply for unreturned keys and keychains.

Reservations made with a gift card still require a credit card to be on file for incidentals.

Most rooms at The Mountain Top Lodge are designed for double occupancy. A limited number of rooms may accommodate additional guests. For specific inquiries, please contact us at info@themountaintoplodge.com.

cancellation policy.

(EXCLUSIVE OF GROUP BOOKINGS). Please note our cancellation policy.

If you cancel more than 30 days prior to your reservation, we are happy to provide you with a refund less a $25 administrative fee.

If you cancel more than 14 days prior to your reservation, we will issue a refund less a 25% (percent) cancellation fee per room per night.

If you cancel within 14 days or less of your reservation, we cannot provide a refund or credit.

We do not provide refunds for no call/no shows.

special restrictions.

The Mountain Top Lodge is dedicated to providing a peaceful and quiet environment for all our guests. We welcome families with children over the age of 12 and ask that they remain respectful of the comfort and enjoyment of others. For those seeking additional privacy, we recommend booking The Breedlove Cabin.

While we love our furry friends, The Mountain Top Lodge currently does not offer pet-friendly rooms. A $250 cleaning fee will be applied if evidence of pets is found in your room. You may occasionally see Hodges, Piper, and Annie Poo - the Breedlove family dogs - -on the property, but they are not permitted in the main lodge or guest rooms.

To ensure the privacy and security of all guests, we kindly request that the number of guests on the property is limited to those included in your reservation. For photo sessions or gatherings, please contact us at info@themountaintoplodge.comto make the necessary arrangements.

Our property is non-smoking. A $200 fee will be charged if smoking is detected in any rooms, decks, or porches. Additionally, candles are prohibited due to fire safety concerns, though battery-operated candles are welcome.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. If any member of your reservation is disruptive to other guests or causes damage to the lodge, we will ask you to leave without a refund. Any damages will be charged to the credit card on file.

Guest experience.

Breakfast is served between 8AM and 10AM in Wit & Widsom. If you prefer to have breakfast delivered to your room, please let us know in advance and we will be happy to accommodate your request; additional charges may apply. Please inform our staff of allergies and diet restrictions at least 48 hours prior to your arrival. While we take steps to prevent cross-contact, we are unable to guarantee that a menu item is completely free of allergens. Coffee is always available in the lobby for your convenience.

Wine Down Hour is daily from 5PM to 6PM. Please join us in the lobby for refreshments as you settle into the evening hour.

Additional beverages and snacks are also available for purchase through The Welcome Bar Menu.

ALCOHOL POLICY.

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our guests, all alcoholic beverages consumed on the property must be purchased from The Mountain Top Lodge. We offer a selection of fine wines, beers, and spirits for your enjoyment. Please note that bringing outside alcohol onto the premises is strictly prohibited and may result in penalties.

cleaning services.

We value your privacy at the MTL, therefore, we do not offer a daily cleaning service. If your stay is exceeds 3 nights, we will happily accommodate your request to refresh your room. Extra towels and amenities are of course available by reaching out to our team Thank you for your understanding.

community guest areas.

We have multiple community guest areas throughout the property. We encourage you to gather and enjoy our porches, lobby, library and fire pit areas throughout your stay. We do ask that you observe our “quiet hours” from 10PM to 7AM in respect of other guests.

Per local health code requirements, the main kitchen is not included in the community guest areas and guests are not permitted to enter or use the kitchen or any of its appliances. Coffee and tea service are provided in the lobby on the main level.

damages & key replacement.

The Mountain Top Lodge prides itself on providing excellent decor and furnishings for your enjoyment. While we understand and expect normal wear and tear, you are responsible if you cause damage to the building or furnishings including furniture, artwork, bedding, linens and towels. Please report damages as they occur so that they may be estimated and replaced quickly. If damages are found after you have checked out, the credit card on file will be charged for such damages.

Also when checking out, please remember to either leave your key in the room or return it to a staff member. Unreturned keys will incur a replacement charge for the key and keychain of $25.

security.

We monitor all community areas, front entries and the parking lot with security cameras. Please note: Firearms are not permitted on the premises.

Permits.

The Mountain Top Lodge operates under the Lumpkin County, Georgia Short-term Rental License. License numbers are 7, 136 and 137.
